SMI CEO Jennifer Jordan-Saifi, M.V.O., MBA speaks at the Global Fashion Summit: Copenhagen Edition 2026

The Global Fashion Summit 2026 convened over 1000 stakeholders from brands, retailers, NGOs, policymakers, manufacturers, innovators, and adjacent industries to advance collective action on fashion's sustainability challenges and opportunities.

Presented by Global Fashion Agenda (GFA), the non-profit accelerating the transition to a net positive fashion industry, the forum was held at the iconic Copenhagen Concert Hall, with side events hosted at prestigious cultural venues around the city.

At the Summit, Sustainable Markets Initiative’s (SMI) CEO, Jennifer Jordan-Saifi, M.V.O., MBA, joined Federica Marchionni, GFA CEO, Helena Helmersson, Business Leader and Board Professional at On, Mango and Circulose, and Andrea Baldo, Mulberry CEO, on stage to discuss how private sector diplomacy can shape the future of fashion.

Guided by this year's Summit theme ‘Building Resilient Futures’, the panel explored the role of the private sector as a defining force in corporate climate action and responsibility in fashion, highlighting how sustainability must be embedded into the heart of global value creation as supply chains continue to evolve in an increasingly complex landscape.

During the session, a new alliance between the GFA and the SMI was announced. Built on shared values and aligned objectives, the collaboration will focus on knowledge‑sharing and collective action to accelerate positive social and environmental impact in fashion and related industries.

Closing proceedings included an Official Celebration Dinner on 7 May at The National Gallery of Denmark was attended by GFA Patron, Her Majesty The Queen of Denmark, who met with senior delegates including SMI CEO, Jennifer Jordan-Saifi, M.V.O., MBA, to discuss the importance of collaboration in advancing sustainability across the fashion industry.
